In June, we told you about Skype’s availability on the Xperia™ neo and Xperia™ pro. Skype has just confirmed that the release of Skype 2.1 will be supported by the Xperia™ PLAY, Xperia™ mini pro, and Xperia™ ray. Sony Ericsson Xperia™ users can now easily find and download the Skype app directly from the Sony Ericsson channel on Android™ Market.
My name is Jeff Fung and I am a guest blogger from ANT Wireless, where I work as a software developer. I am pleased to announce that the much anticipated ANT API for Android has now been released. The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X8, Xperia™ X10 mini and Xperia™ X10 mini pro will be among the first commercially available Android phones to support ANT. The good folks at Sony Ericsson have indicated that support will be added to more devices in the near future. Applications will be able to utilize this API in the announced devices as well as in all future devices supporting ANT.

Starting with the new Xperia™ neo and Xperia™ pro, it will be possible to develop your own extensions to Sony Ericsson’s Timescape™ application. The Timescape™ application is a central hub for most social activities and events in a Sony Ericsson Android™ phone. And with the new Extension Development Kit (EDK), you will be able to develop your own Timescape™ extensions. For example, you can add new information sources to the applications to expand the social network options. Or find your own unique uses for the EDK and create your own Timescape extensions.
