Sony’s Open Devices program now supports Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact

Today, we announce our latest addition to Sony’s Open Devices program by adding support for Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact. This means you can now build and flash your own version of Android O on these two new devices.

Get started using our build guide for instructions on how to build AOSP for your Android O device. Please note that this software is meant for developers and can be unstable due to its early stage.

As part of our Open Devices program, projects for the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact are now available via GitHub where you can contribute and take part in our open source community. As you may know, our Open Devices program provide developers with access and tools to build and test their custom software on a range of Sony devices. You can access all the resources you need through our Open Devices page on Developer World.

HI Johan, I’m try to build the aosp for Xperia XZ1 by following this instruction step by step https://developer.sonymobile.com/open-devices/aosp-build-instructions/how-to-build-aosp-oreo-for-unlocked-xperia-devices/. The compilation part is done successfully and I flash boot, system, and userdata to the phone. But it stuck on sony logo. I try flash software binary and it fail (FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)). I even try build kernel from kernel repository from sonydev on github and pack zImage to boot image, but it still stuck at sony logo. Do I require another step to do than said in the instructions?
