Now Pál Szász, who created the tool, has added some new features and made several updates to it. The latest version of AppXplore – version 2.5 – is now available for download on Google Play. AppXplore is a free analysis tool that lists all the apps on your Android device, and gives you detailed information for each, including permissions used, Android™ versions supported, libraries shared, and much more. AppXplore is especially useful for seeing how much memory an app is using, and if the file is movable to the SD card. Likewise, developers can use AppXplore for QA purposes, to make sure their apps are showing the proper permissions in the manifest file. Android™ developers, do you frequently get Application Not Responding (ANR) messages and application crashes? Are you unsure what to do with the massive data collected from Android’s bugreport tool? We talked to Pál Szász, a software developer at Sony Ericsson, to learn about ChkBugReport, a new tool that helps you analyse your crash files. Because this tool is such a great help for our developers at Sony Ericsson, and as a part of our ambition to step up our open source activities, we want to give all of you the chance to use it by making it open source. Do you know about the AppXplore analysis tool? It’s a little handy app we originally created for internal purposes within Sony. But then we thought, why not make this available to everyone? So we did just that. AppXplore will give you all the nitty gritty information about the apps installed on your phone – what permissions your apps are using, what Android™ versions are supported, what libraries the apps are sharing and so on. And now we have updated this app with some new features!
