Themes creator


The Sony Ericsson Themes Creator tool is a “composer” that allows you to personalise the look and feel of any Sony Ericsson mobile phone by quickly creating great-looking themes based on existing components such as color palettes, sound files, image files or animations. Consumers can create a theme in minutes using the three-step Wizard mode – see how on our Themes Creator Minisite. Professional developers get fine control over many elements of the theme using the Advanced Editor mode.

  • Version 4.16 adds support for Symbian phones Satio™ and Vivaz™.
  • Version 4.12 added support for XPERIA X2 and a rotate image function to supplement the crop function. There is a refreshed look and feel and parts of the wizard have been redesigned for an easier and more natural flow.

Wizard mode

The Themes Creator Wizard lets you create a theme in just 3 simple steps.

First select pictures for backgrounds: Navigation, Desktop and Standby.Select pictures from the PC or Mac, or directly from the mobile phone using USB or Bluetooth.Use the built-in zoom and crop tools to frame your image so it fits the phone’s displ
 Next select colors for the theme:

  • select on a color circle
  • pick from a picture
  • import an Adobe Swatch Exchange File
  • download from Adobe Kuler
 Finally, select a style for the graphical user interface.You can now preview your theme and adjust it until it’s just right.Many different views are included in the preview, so you get the best possible idea what your theme will look like.

Advanced editor

The Advanced Editor gives you precise control over your theme design. You can import images and set colors for each element.

Advanced mode also allows you to

  • Set ringtone
  • Set message received alert tone
  • Import flash content for the wallpaper
  • Perform color reduction and dithering

XML editor

This mode allows you to edit the content of the XML file which is saved inside the theme file. This is practical, for example, when you want to add an element that is not supported by the currently selected phone profile but can be handled by the target phone.
