Would have been GREAT except Sony relegated this feature into their own apps. Leave it to Sony to develop a nice technology, then restrict it to work on only their apps. YAWN

Hi,

I know this may sound silly, does throw works from my Xperia L to a laptop?

Or does this means the 'throw' only works with 'receiving devices'?

What feature is required at the TV end to support throwing?
My blue-ray has DNLA but is a 2010 model and I'm not sure it has the app to display screen mirroring?
It there some secondary hardware available that I could plug into the TVs HDMI port?

Will throw video not taken on device, all audio and all photos (whether taken on device or not) but not video taken on device. Xperia z to Xbox 360, both fully updated. Any idea why the discrepancy? Xbox claim to support mp4 playback. Cheers. Dan

It is not working for any video formats. Although I do have it working now for video playback to my laptop, but who knows how long for. Seems bad tech, and a lot of people are having the same problems including from older phone models so I guess I will not hold my breath for Sony to even worry about fixing it

Hi!

Sorry for the delay. It is difficult to say what goes wrong in your cases, but for example, it could be that the TV doesn't support MP4 video playback. Even if the TV is certified by DLNA.org, some older models might not support MP4 video playback.

Best regards,
Anna from Developer World
