Manage your data and power consumption and enjoy HD voice with Xperia™ E
Xperia™ E supports HD Voice, a technology that transmits a broader spectrum of the human voice, resulting in more natural sounds and better clarity, even in noisy environments. HD Voice functionality is operator dependent, and only available to consumers on the same national network, and where both the calling and called party each has an HD Voice-compatible mobile phone – please check with your operator to see if HD Voice is available in your area.
With Xperia™ E, cost and power consumption can be easily monitored, thanks to a data usage app that shows how much is being spent. And even better, with the Extended Standby Mode feature, battery life is saved by closing apps in sleep mode, thereby increasing standby up to 4 times.
Xperia™ E dual makes it possible for you to easily switch between SIM cards with the most cost effective data plan, anytime with a simple touch, and each SIM card is customisable with separate ring signals.

You also get superior sound quality with the in-built “WALKMAN” Sony media application including xLOUD™ audio technology, 3D surround sound and manual equaliser. And you’ll be able to easily share and view all your premium content on TV, tablet and PC through Xperia™ E’s DLNA connectivity.
Develop Xperia™ games, apps and custom app extensions
A wide range of Sony SDKs and developer tools are available for Xperia™ E. With the Sony add-on SDK, you can create apps for Smart Extras™ accessories (SmartWatch and Smart Wireless Headset pro). You can also create extensions that enhance the capabilities of Timescape™ and Music player, signature apps in every Xperia™ smartphone, by using our Sony add-on SDK. And if you’re a game developer, you can easily create games for Xperia™ E with the Unity game engine. See our previous blog posts on using Unity for game development.

By Joe Padre
#12Hi Muhammad,
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, the current Xperia smartphones that have dual sim (Xperia E dual and Xperia tipo dual) do not have front facing cameras. Happy to hear that you’re loving Xperia pro. Hopefully, we’ll have another model soon that will suit your needs.
Thanks and best regards,

#13This phone is terrible.
I purchased this phone some 3 months back. Within 1.5 months, the phone started showing echo issues. The other party hears an echo and there is also loss in voice quality.
I submitted the phone to the authorized Sony Service center. After repairing the phone, the problem came back within 24 hours. So I gave the phone again to the service center and yet the problem recurred. Since the same problem recurred, I contacted Sony Customer Care asking for a replacement and they FLATLY REFUSED to replace the device and just ‘apologized’.
I am now proceeding with a consumer court complaint for selling defective product and bad service as well as causing associated expenses and harassment.
Please let me know if there is a more effective way of approaching this.
The last service request number at the service center was 13011201446.
thanks,
Alok

#21Hi Joe,
Thanks a ton to Sony for developing an affordable smartphone with Jelly Bean out of the Box. But one question I want to ask you is that is 512 MB RAM sufficient enough to run Jelly Bean smoothly without any lag? As you developer may have tested the phone with the specified hardware. I am asking this because I heard somewhere that at least 1 GB RAM is necessary to run Jelly Bean. I don’t know about the policy which Sony implements in it’s Xperia Smartphone but you may have heard that HTC have denied to give Jelly Bean update to it’s smartphone that have 512 MB RAM or less. So, is it mandatory to have 1 GB of RAM for Jelly Bean to run smoothly? Waiting for your positive reply….
By Joe Padre
#22Hi Guarav,
I haven’t seen any specifics from Google regarding minimum RAM requirements for JB. All Sony smartphones go through thorough testing to ensure a quality user experience. Hope that helps.
Thanks and best regards,
