Hello Tobias,

Firstly I would like to say how I am glad to hear that Sony will keep our phones with new firmwares and better overall experience.

But I would like to know, what kernel this new firmware will be using? The old and patched kernel that we are using, or peharps a 3.x kernel?

All the Xda community always praised Sony as one of the most good partner in developing world. That’s why Sony won reward among the developers.
We also know, that kernel not necessarily means performance or smoothness. But for all the XDA devs, the possibility to work in a 3.x kernel would be amazing. Because for example, the custom JB roms, misses the V-Sync, that only 3.x kernel are able to run. I know to trim a kernel takes times and efforts. But I would like to know if this new release will come with a new kernel or the same old froyo?

I totally agree with you, really disappointed, i’ve bought my ArcS at the begining of the year, and five month later there was Jelly Bean 4.1, and now 4.2 and we are still fighting for ICS! they forget about us and our phones, next year, the so beloved Xperia T will be left on 4.2, and then they’ll forget of it, and so on… You disappointed me Sony. Next phone: Nexus!

Bonjour je posséde depuis peu un sonu xperia u st 25 i avec la version android 2.3.7 version noyau 2.6.35.7+ et build 6.0.B.3.184 mais je ne peux pas installer android 4.0, PC compagnon me dit que mon smartphone est à jour ? est ce normal. Pourrais je un jour installé android 4.0 ? merci de vos réponses.

o2 has said that the xperia neo,arc or ray will be not updated to 4.0 as they have not approved it but sonys saying yes but o2 no are we going to get the update?
