Update available for LiveView™ micro display

We are happy to announce that a firmware update for LiveView™ micro display is now available, as well as an updated version of LiveView™ application. The updated LiveView™ application is available on Android Market, and the firmware update of LiveView™ micro display is done using the Sony Ericsson Update Service software. Visit the Sony Ericsson Support pages for more information and guidance on how to update your LiveView™ micro display.

The most noticeable improvements are:

  • Improved plug-in handling allowing up to 30 plug-ins to be handled in the LiveView™ top menu. This means that third party plug-ins will now be found in the top menu and much more easily accessible for the consumer.
  • Improved overall stability of the device, and improved Bluetooth™ connection stability for all compatible phone models, not just Sony Ericsson phones.

The number of third party LiveView™ plug-ins on Android Market is steadily increasing, and more use cases are being added continuously. To develop for LiveView™ micro display, go to Sony Ericsson Developer World and download the SDK and tutorial.

To learn more about the update of LiveView™ micro display, check out the Sony Ericsson Product Launch Blog.

My LiveView won’t go into DFU mode. I start the Update Center, select the LiveView, plug in the USB cable, press and hold Select and then Power… and the LiveView goes into pairing mode instead of DFU mode. Any ideas?
